March 31, 2005 By: David Anthony Wireless Antenna - are they really that safe?
Most people are pretty much familiar about how an antenna of normal sorts looks like, such as those found on a cordless telephone. However, technology has progressed to the stage that the antenna need not be flimsy added on to the cell. Many manufacturers today incorporate the wireless antenna into their cell phones. For the wireless cell phone to operate efficiently, it has to have adequate signal strength as well as an antenna that is linked to a sensitive circuitry that can trace the faint signals. In some extreme cases, where the signals are much too weak, there may be a need to go in for the external antenna, that come as a accessory for major cellular phones. These antennas may not always be wireless, depending on the kind of cells in use as well as the model. The cells that come with wireless signal receiver are designed aesthetically and are less prone to damages. The range in this type of cellular phone is varied, stylish and usually more colorful. In recent times though, there have been reports on these built-in wireless antennas being a cause for concern. These types of cellular phones have been shown to have a strong electromagnetic field near the earpiece that is theorized to give rise to cancer cells in humans. At times, it may make people to consider going back to using the telephone and not the cell phone any more. All that remains to be seen now is whether these cells are indeed a danger to mankind and we ourselves are putting our race in danger.
