PDA Phones - wireless phones that do it all

Personal digital Assistants, commonly known as PDA phones, are the front runners in the mobile phone industry when it comes to raw power performance. The PDA is considered as a personal secretary with a phone and major players in this field are Blackberry, Dell, Ipaq and palmone. Designed to offer superior connectivity, these wireless phones, as they are sometimes referred to as, are equipped with high level micro-processors, large built-in memory capacity and a much more superior VGA display.

PDA phones, as though their standard configuration is insufficient, have many expansion slots to cater even to odd and different wireless data transfer applications of the future. To ensure seamless operations, the pda’s operating system is usually the Microsoft Windows Mobile edition. Not to mention that having a common ruler ensures that these cellular phones can easily connect to other cells and exchange information instantly.

Besides being a telephone, the PDA is excellent as a recorder, allowing one to record one’s dictation while on the go; something that persons into research and investigation will find very useful. At the end of the day, a pda’s integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technologies offer flexible connectivity options to download all the day’s activities onto the PC for records.

Besides work, these cellular based smartphones can host a good number of entertainment software, such as games, videos and music that can be downloaded to the cell via the net or thru wireless data transfer from other systems or cell phones.

Though its present display options may yearn for more, the pda’s technological development as an entertainment tool is constantly being upgraded. For example Dell’s Axim X50v has now introduced a screen resolution of 480 x 640 with a 16-bit Color Depth of 64000 colors. Hence, with its high power consumption, these cells some equipped with smart cells of Lithium ion compound.

A major difference between smartphones and another cell phone or telephone is the method of operation. Like a pen is mightier than a sword, a stylus is mightier than a key pad. With the ever decreasing size of the cells and smartphones, whose average dimension these days is a reasonable 5” x3”, the stylus mode of operation has liberated the user from fiddling around with those small buttons of a smart telephone or cellular sets.
