Mobile Phone Radiation - are cell phones really safe? |

The issue of mobile phone radiation has been a hotly debated issue of cell phone safety – what’s safest and what’s not in the usage of the cell phone. As mobile phones have not been in use for that long a period to fully understand the long term effect of constant use cells, it’s difficult to pin down a definite yes or no to individual safety aspects. Study on what is safe or otherwise till date has been thru scientific models and hypothesis. Mobile phones work on magnetic and radio waves. The basic theory for all that have been listed in the safe list is that these are electromagnetic (EM) wave forms and radiation is a natural by-product of it. To quell, or at least channel this radiation along the correct flow pattern, it’s suggested that shielded antennas be used and ear buds that can conduct the EM waves be attached to the ear piece of the cell phone. A practice considered the safest in the level of safety in the use of mobile phones against radiation is to go in for a handsfree accessory of the mobile. This helps keep the source away from the brain and more so, aids one in freeing the hands to do more useful work than to carry a cell phone. Safety tips have also mentioned that it’s a good practice not to keep cells in the shirt or pant pocket as these may cause an interference with the natural bio-rhythm of the body. For those who find the operators signal to be weak in areas they frequent, it’s not safe to use amplifiers regularly when the handset has to be held while talking. Perhaps the safest thing to do is not to go in for a handset as of yet till issues get clearer.
