Nokia has released its first round of multiplayer Java mobile games based on its SNAP Mobile solution. The Scalable Network Application Package (SNAP) Mobile solution offer multiplayer cell phone games in Java, as well as key communication features such as friends lists, presence, and instant mobile messaging. The Sega cell phone game options are a prime example of SNAP Mobile bringing the technology utilized in the N-Gage Arena games community to Java terminals which are now almost ubiquitous across all cell phones. Developing Games For a Mobile ConsumerSNAP Mobile allows game developers access to the network tools to be able to create mobile multiplayer, connected games for cell phones everywhere, with special compatibility to the N-Gage Arena system. This allows game developers to build and expand their own gaming communities within the cell phone infrastructure.
