The Oki Electric Industry Company and Casio Computers have jointly developed and released a 32 polyphonic sound generator and 16 polyphonic sound generator aimed at improving international long distance cell phone frequencies across the world. Oki is the first semiconductor company in Japan to develop a cell phone sound chip specifically with a commitment to developing excellent sound quality and cheap long distance rates that suits the Chinese cell phone market and improves mobile phone safety. The two long distance cell phone sound chips are ready to be used by the manufacturers of Chinese oriented cell phones and also those manufactured in international cities in Europe, North America, Korea, Japan, Taiwan that are made for global and long distance communications. Responding to Market DemandsOki aims to sell nine million long distance cell phone sound chips at discount and cheap rates, in an effort to improve long distance cell frequencies in China by the end of the first quarter in 2005. To do this they have established a project team in Shanghai who focus only on long distance cell phone marketing, safe use of long distance and global cell phones and technical support for cell phones and long distance chip frequencies specifically for the international Chinese market. This enabled Oki to respond quickly to customer’s long distance needs in that market. The end result being long distance cell phone sound chips that offer excellent sound quality, is small in size and has low power consumption. Similarly, in an effort to respond to the global Chinese market demands that requested louder ring tone volume on cell phones, Oki also optimized the wave table and was able to achieve twice the volume sound compared to the normal conventional cell phones found that house the small speakers. They were able to do this with the user’s safety in mind. Cell phone manufactures look to Oki for fast production time of the cell phone chips because of the pin arrangements and control software they use in their development. Their processes allow manufacturers to significantly reduce the 32 polyphonic and 16 polyphonic development times.
