The history of cell phones that we so abundantly use today is rooted deep into the early 20th century. As a matter of fact, cell phone information on the history of using wireless phones dates back into 1921. It was the police department then that used a mobile hand piece loaded into the vehicle running on low frequency signals. From 1940 onwards, the communication methods of the people were changing as more and more people, especially the police department, got into telephones that could be carried out for a great distance. As requirements grew for a wireless telephone the government started issuing licenses to operators from about the year 1949 known as Radio Common Carrier. This allowed firms to carry these signals and subsequently interconnect them to the existing telephone networks. With regards to the calls, historical means were through mobile telephone operator who would dial up your required number and connect you by means of cables. However, come 1964, an auto channel selector was initiated into the network that allowed call phones users to do their own dialing. AT & T was the first developer of the modern day cell phone concept, by building up required infrastructure and cells. On the signal front, analog signals were signals where the voice information was carried on a frequency modulator carrier. The drawback here was that as demand grew, the signals were found to not be able to sue the frequency spectrum effectively. Along came digital format, called GSM or Global System for Mobile communication. The principal was that of TDMA, or Time Division Multiple Access, that allows 8 users per channel, separated 200 kHz apart.
